Goldey-Beacom claimed a 4-3 triumph, with four singles wins, over West Chester in a thrilling contest in West Chester, PA.
 
Junior Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) and freshman Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) gained a 6-1 win in their doubles match, but West Chester claimed the doubles point with wins in the other two matches.
 
Despite trailing 1-0, the Lightning battled back to capture four singles wins, opening with Bruno taking a 6-3, 6-4 win over Elaina Lee.
 
At No. 2 singles, Canbaz continued strong play to win the final two sets 6-2, 6-2 over Davica Massaro after losing the set 2-6. Sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) gave the Lightning a 3-1 lead after taking a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles over Tori Alexander.
 
But West Chester tied the match at 3-3 after wins by Ana Ochoa and Tuno Oe at No. 4 and No. 5 singles over Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) and Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador).
 
With the match going down to the wire, freshman Alex Kepa (Nottingham, England) showed tough play to take the final point with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Alyssa Skulsky at No. 6 singles and give the Lightning a 4-3 win.
 
Goldey-Beacom hosts Slippery Rock on Saturday at the Delcastle Tennis Center, with the first serve at 12:00 pm.
