Women’s Tennis Dealt 5-2 Loss at the District of Columbia

Goldey-Beacom faced a tough foe out of the East Region and was handed a 5-2 setback by the District of Columbia in Washington, DC.
 
Goldey-Beacom (4-10) found itself in a 1-0 hole after doubles, but not before sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and freshman Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) got a 6-2 triumph at No. 2 doubles over Laura Marie and Celia Bastin.
 
Freshman Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory at second singles over Mariona Franco and freshman Alex Kepa (Nottingham, England) notched a 7-6, 6-2 triumph at No. 6 singles over Claudia Bahamon for the Firebirds (11-6).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Friday visits West Chester for a rescheduled match.  First serve is at 1:00 pm.
