Goldey-Beacom Gets Four on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

2/13/2023 12:00:00 AM

The crossover between the winter and spring seasons was enough opportunity for Goldey-Beacom to get four on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll with senior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) honored for Women's Basketball, junior Ayshion Centeno (Pleasantville, NJ) picked for Men's Basketball and both junior Justin Jump (Wilmington, DE) and sophomore Christian Petrillo (North Brunswick, NJ) selected for Baseball.

Harrison averaged 21.0 points on 13-of-26 shooting and 8.0 rebounds over two games.  She poured in a career-best 27 points to go with nine rebounds Wednesday at Georgian Court before getting 15 and seven Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 98-68 rout of Bloomfield.

It has been another sterling season for Harrison, who once again has established her presence in the paint.  She is fourth in the league with a .524 field goal percentage, seventh with 12.8 points per game and 35th with 4.7 rebounds per contest.

Harrison enters this week 11th in team history with 1,133 points, fifth with 101 blocks, eighth with 631 rebounds and eighth with 451 field goals.

Centeno averaged 23.0 points on 16-of-30 shooting over two games.  He poured in a career-best 30 points on 9-of-14 shooting and was 9-for-11 from the foul line in Goldey-Beacom's big 89-66 victory Wednesday at Georgian Court.

A big-game player seeking to help the Lightning remain among the region's top teams, he is 18th in the CACC with 13.6 points per game, 19th with a .481 field goal percentage and 41st with a .321 three-point percentage.

Jump struck out three over four innings, allowing just two hits and two runs Friday to earn the victory in Goldey-Beacom's season-opening 16-7 win over Chowan.

One of the squad's top hurlers, the two-time member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll looks for another solid year after ending 35th in the league a season ago with 34 strikeouts.  He now has a selection on the league's Weekly Honor Roll each of the last three campaigns.

Petrillo went 4-for-4 with the go-ahead three-run double Friday in his debut with Goldey-Beacom.  His output sparked the squad's 15-hit attack, helping a turn a 2-2 tie after three innings into a 12-4 lead after six.

Men's basketball on Monday visits Kutztown, women's basketball is home Saturday against Chestnut Hill and baseball on Friday is in Cary, NC for a doubleheader versus Le Moyne.
