Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women’s Basketball Falls, 95-76, to Indiana (PA)

Goldey-Beacom made a 13-point run bridging the third and fourth quarters, but it was not enough in a 95-76 loss to Indiana (PA) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning reached a bakers dozen consecutively by going 8-for-8 from the foul line and forcing the Crimson Hawks into three turnovers, putting the score at 75-62 with 8:22 left.  Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) closed with six points and fellow freshman Genesis Garcia (Aguada, PR) added five.

But IUP netted the next 10 points to make it 85-62 with 5:12 remaining.  Teirra Preston was solid with six points and Maria Cerro converted an old-fashioned three-point play.

Yoder ended with a season-best 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting to with nine rebounds and hitting 7-for-9 from the line.  Garcia netted 12 points, also going 7-for-9 from the charity stripe, and senior Janiya Stevens (Ellendale, DE) had 10 and seven rebounds for the Lightning (0-4), who this season go with seven newcomers after losing seven to graduation.

Kiera Baughman scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, Rahmena Henderson poured in 18 points, Grace Centrulla netted 15 points, Preston had 14 and 14 rebounds with Nyshae' Weaver getting 11 and eight off the bench for IUP (3-1).
