(boxscore)

Goldey-Beacom got a pair of singles victories, but it was not enough in a 5-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss at Post in Middlebury, CT.

Sophomore Nahomi Quinonez (Manta Ecuador) continues to be a major player for the Lightning.  She gutted out each of her two sets, improving her singles record to 5-2 with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph at No. 4 singles over Megan Lombardt.

The Lightning (2-5, 1-5 CACC) looked for some big play out of junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) at first singles and got it.  She was in control throughout in notching a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Micaela Rosignuolo.

Other highlights saw sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) force her opening set at No. 2 singles to a tiebreak before she was handed a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 loss to Annunciata De-Souza.  Canbaz and Mova also played solidly at first doubles, but were dealt a 7-5 loss by Rosignuolo and Lombardt for the Eagles (6-5, 3-3).

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday is home against Wilmington as part of Homecoming & Lightning Family Weekend.  Match time at Delcastle Tennis Center is at noon.
