Women's Tennis Dealt 6-1 Loss by Jefferson To Close Regular Season

Goldey-Beacom took on top team Jefferson to close out their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play and was dealt a 6-1 loss at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
Junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) continued their consistent play throughout the year and put up a fight at No. 1 singles before falling 4-6 to Noelle Freutel and Nicole Hrbkova.
 
Canbaz closed out her fall season on top form at No. 2 singles and was rewarded with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Freutel. Mova also battled at No. 1 singles in a 3-6, 5-7 loss to Hrbkova. Junior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) showed toughness at No. 3 singles despite a 3-6, 4-6 loss.
 
Goldey-Beacom (2-9, 1-9 CACC) continue to build their program, which was rewarded with two Central Atlantic Collegiate Award winners. Mova was tabbed second team All-CACC and sophomore Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) was picked Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year. Quinonez, the first for GBC to get this honor since Fredrika Regner in 2017, saw a 6-5 singles record on the season.
