Goldey-Beacom Basketball Gets Two More Cited for CACC Weekly Honors

1/9/2023 12:00:00 AM

Another prolific week for Goldey-Beacom basketball saw freshman Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season and freshman Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) picked to the Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Marsh averaged 21.0 points on 50 percent (15-of-30) shooting and 10.5 rebounds over two games in addition to going 12-for-12 from the foul line.  He had 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting and seven rebounds Wednesday at Chestnut Hill before getting 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 14 rebounds Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 87-84 win at Caldwell.

It truly has been a solid beginning to what hopes to be a promising career for Marsh, who has recorded five double-doubles and is averaging 20.5 points in his last 10 games.  He has been picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll three times and owns a career high of 33 points from December 3 against Holy Family.

Marsh is 57th in the nation (second in the CACC) with 18.8 points per game, 23rd with 71 free throws, 23rd with 103 field goals, 42nd with 21 blocks, 45th with 9.1 rebounds per contest and 51st with 26 steals.

Ciszkowski averaged 10.5 points on 50 percent (8-of-16) shooting and 4.0 rebounds over two games.  She netted 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four 3-pointers Saturday at Caldwell after getting seven points Wednesday at Chestnut Hill.

Ciszkowski has been more than a valuable addition to the program, giving the Lightning a great shooting touch and solid competitiveness on both sides of the court.  She has scored in double figures six times that included a season-best 18 points November 19 against Seton Hill.

She is eighth in the nation (first in the CACC) with a .486 three point percentage, third in the league with 34 three-pointers, 18th with a .433 field goal percentage and 33rd with 8.5 points per game.

Both teams are in action Tuesday at home against Jefferson with the women's game at 6:00 pm and the men's contest at 8:00 pm.
