1/23/2023 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom received two more accolades from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with junior Damani Thomas (Kingston, NY) named to the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll and senior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) picked to the Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Thomas averaged 19.5 points on 50 percent shooting (13-of-26) with nine rebounds, eight 3-pointers and six steals over two games.  He went off Saturday for a career-best 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting, a personal-best six 3-pointers along with five rebounds and three steals at Post.  Thomas also netted 10 points Tuesday against Wilmington.

Thomas has been a huge factor of late by scoring in double figures six of his last 10 contests and giving the Lightning yet another scoring option.  A gifted player with outstanding quickness, he is eighth in the CACC with a .416 three-point percentage, 10th with 32 three-pointers, 42nd with 4.1 rebounds per game and 45th with 9.6 points per contest.

Harrison averaged 18.0 points and 4.5 rebounds over two games.  She recorded 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting and hauled in seven rebounds Saturday at Post.  This was after getting 13 points Tuesday in Goldey-Beacom's 82-50 triumph over Wilmington.

Harrison, who recently became the 11th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points, continued an impressive stretch in which she is averaging 20.3 points over her last three contests and 15.6 points in her last five games.  She is seventh in the league with a .500 field goal percentage, 12th with 75 field goals, 16th with 11.2 points per game and 16th with a .646 free throw percentage.

It is the third time this season Harrison has made the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.

Goldey-Beacom is home Sunday against Alliance with the women's game at 1:00 pm and the men's contest at 3:00 pm.
