Basketball Teams See Three Make the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

1/16/2023 12:00:00 AM

The list for Goldey-Beacom basketball players being honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference increased to three with senior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) and freshman Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) getting on the Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll and freshman Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) making the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Harrison, who makes the Honor Roll for a third time this season, reached 1,000 career points during a week in which she averaged 15.5 points over two games.  She hit the milestone Saturday, when she scored a career-high 25 points on 7-of-14 shooting and went 11-for-12 from the line to go with seven rebounds in Goldey-Beacom's 90-61 triumph over Bridgeport.

Harrison is continuing what has been an outstanding career and has played a big role in Goldey-Beacom looking to get back to the CACC Tournament.  She is 20th in the CACC with 10.4 points per game, ninth with a .492 field goal percentage, 14th with 63 field goals and 19th with nine blocks.

Many games remain in Harrison's quest to keep climbing in the record books.  She is 11th in team history with 1,001 career points, fifth with 101 blocks, ninth with 584 rebounds and 10th with 405 field goals.

Ciszkowski averaged 14.5 points on 10-of-19 shooting and canned seven 3-pointers over two games.  The league's leader in three point percentage netted 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting and hit four 3-pointers in Goldey-Beacom's 90-61 victory over Bridgeport.  Ciszkowski, a repeat pick to the Weekly Honor Roll, also netted 11 points with three 3-pointers Tuesday vs. No. 19 Jefferson.

Ciszkowski has given the Lightning plenty of versatility and is one of the area's top offensive threats.  She is seventh in the nation with a .494 three-point percentage, 32nd with 41 three-pointers (third in the CACC), 17th in the league with a .447 field goal percentage and 28th with 9.2 points per contest.

Her 41 three-pointers are just 13 away from reaching the school's single-season top 10 list.

Marsh averaged 18.5 points on 14-of-26 shooting and 12.5 rebounds over two games.  He had 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 14 rebounds Tuesday in Goldey-Beacom's 77-72 triumph over Jefferson.  This was before Marsh had 21 points and 11 rebounds Saturday vs. Bridgeport.

It has been a dynamic season for the freshman phenom, who has given the Lightning everything they possibly could ask from a dominant scoring presence to outstanding defense.  He is 21th in the country with 9.5 rebounds per game, seventh with seven double-doubles, 27th with 117 field goals, 39th with 24 blocks, 55th with 18.8 points per contest and 55th with 29 steals.

Marsh, a three-time CACC Rookie of the Week and now a four-time pick for the league's Weekly Honor Roll, has been second in the CACC in scoring seemingly for at least half the season.  His 319 points, 161 rebounds, 117 field goals, 80 free throws and 24 blocks all are on pace to reach the school's single-season top 10 list.

Both teams are in action Tuesday against local-rival Wilmington.  The women's game is at 6:00 pm and the men's contest is at 8:00 pm.
