Goldey-Beacom faced a 7-0 loss against Wilmington (DE) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

Despite the loss, the Lightning continue to show improvement with a young team against one of the league's best.

The Wildcats took the first point in the doubles matches. Freshman duo Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) and Hannah Brandl (Neufeld, Austria) showed toughness but were dealt a 3-6 loss.

Brandl continued her fight into her singles match. Despite a loss, Brandl put pressure on her Wildcat opponent, falling in No. 6 singles 1-6, 5-7. Junior Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) also produced tough play, falling in No. 3 singles 3-6, 3-6. Sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) showed promise in No. 1 singles before falling 1-6, 4-6.

Goldey-Beacom heads up to Middlebury, CT to face Post in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Saturday.  The match begin at 1pm.
