Women’s Tennis Drops CACC Opener, 6-1, at Chestnut Hill

Goldey-Beacom, playing with seven newcomers after losing six from last season's squad, was dealt a 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate conference loss at Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, PA.

Goldey-Beacom opened things by dropping the doubles point, but did gain a victory. Sophomore Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) and freshman Jess Sanzo (Bristol, England) played their first match as a unit and recorded a 6-4 win at third doubles over Annika Wise and Lottie Allin.

Hendin-Walker continued her strong play in singles, getting a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at fourth singles over Wise to put the Lightning on the board.

Goldey-Beacom is off until September 24, when it visits Jefferson for a noon match.
