Soccer Teams Get Two on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom got two more soccer players on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll with Alyssa Ruggeri (Hockessin, DE) named for Women's Soccer and fellow sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, DE) so chosen for Men's Soccer.
 
Ruggeri had a goal and an assist Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 3-1 victory over Bloomfield, moving the former to 5-1-1 in its last seven league openers.
 
It has been another strong start for last season's CACC Rookie of the Year, first team all-league pick and first team CCA All-East Region selection.  Her career 15 goals, 13 assists and 43 points have her just outside the school's top 10 list in all three categories.
 
This marks the second straight week Ruggeri has made the league's Weekly Honor Roll.

Short closed with a goal and an assist over two games.  He made a great save of a ball almost going out on the end line, which resulted in an assist on a goal from sophomore Brandon Delgado (Guadalajara, Mexico) on Wednesday vs. Lock Haven.  Short netted his first goal of the season Saturday against Bloomfield.
 
The co-captain once again is showing quality play and keeping the Lightning in every game.  This comes after he closed 36th in the conference a season ago with nine points.
 
Both teams are in action this week at Georgian Court with both matches starting at 3:00 pm.  The women's contest is Tuesday and the men play Wednesday.
