Goldey-Beacom Athletics Gets Six Named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

More solid play from Goldey-Beacom's student-athletes were noticed by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with six named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Junior Mason Maxwell (Newfield, NJ) was picked for baseball, freshman Morgan McLane (Clayton, DE) and junior Carly Setting (Middletown, DE) were tabbed for softball, freshman Manny Carranza (Milford, DE) was selected for men's track & field with sophomore Mikayla Cannon (Felton, DE) and junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) named for women's track & field.
 
Maxwell batted .474 (9-for-19) on the week with a double, a home run and three RBI.  He went 4-for-4 in game two Saturday against Felician with a double and an RBI in Goldey-Beacom's 7-3 win.  Maxwell also had three hits and two RBI in game one Sunday vs. Chestnut Hill, a 15-9 GBC triumph.
 
McLane notched a 2-0 record with two complete games, striking out nine and allowing just five runs – one earned – over 15 innings.  She had five strikeouts over eight innings Saturday at Post without allowing an earned run after getting four strikeouts over seven innings Friday vs. Bloomfield.
 
Setting batted .455 (10-for-22) on the week with four doubles and 10 RBI.  She has two hits in game one against Lincoln, three hits in game one at Post and four RBI in game two vs. Lincoln.  Wednesday's doubleheader against Lincoln saw her go 5-for-9 with five RBI.
 
Carranza closed third in the triple jump at 12.65 meters and fourth in the long jump at 6.43 meters Saturday at Millersville Metrics.
 
Cannon ended third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the same meeting, stopping the clock in 12:56.59.
 
Harrison closed third in the discus by covering 36.9 meters and 14th in the shot put at 10.86 meters.
