Goldey-Beacom Men's & Women's Track and Field closed its regular season on Saturday as the teams competed in the Paul Kaiser Classic in Shippensburg, PA.
Solid performances from the field on both teams came from freshman Karla Chardon (Penns Grove, N.J.) who secured a second-place finish in the javelin throw at 38.78 meters.
Freshman Jacob Wells (New Port Richey, Fla.) closed in sixth place in the javelin throw at 50.67 meters. Freshman Juanita Wiggins (Hampton, VA.) finished seventh in the long jump at 5.29 meters.
Freshman Derek Ongeri (Smyrna, Del.) took 10th place in the high jump at 1.80 meters. Sophomore Jordan Cheaton (Middletown, Del.) placed 13th in the discus throw at 36.98 meters.
Freshman Savannah Boyce (Cherry Hill, N.J.) placed 14th in the high jump at 1.46 meters.
On the track, freshman Tyler Green (Middletown, Del.) took fifth place in the 100-meter dash at 11.11 and sixth place in the 400-meter race at 49.72.
Sophomore Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del.) closed in sixth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 13:15.98 and 12th place in the 10,000-meter run at 46:39.98.
Chris Crossen (Magnolia, DE) ended fifth in the 10,000-meter run in 35:39.85 and fellow sophomore DJ Farren (Lewes, Del.) placed seventh in 40:10.38.
Chardon also placed ninth in the 100-meter dash at 12.63.
The men's 4 x 100-meter relay team in freshman's Derek Ongeri (Smyrna, Del.) and A'Mair Buffaloe (Prospect Park, N.J.) and sophomores Edmond Jones (Wayne, N.J.) and Khalil Proctor (Newark, Del.) finished in seventh place at 44.41.
Post meet remarks from head coach Andy Shearer, "Today's Kaiser Classic results say we are ready for CACCs. I'm excited about how well we've peaked for May. It's been a long season."
Goldey-Beacom competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in Lakewood, NJ on Saturday, May 7 & 8. Day one events begin at 1pm and day two at 10am.
