Goldey-Beacom grabbed its final non-conference win, 14-1, over Lincoln (PA.) University on Wednesday in Lincoln University, PA.
Goldey-Beacom controlled the game, leading off with a seven-run rally in the first inning. Senior Jaeda Henriquez (Jersey City, NJ) blasted a two-run homer with junior Lexi Thomas (Westville, NJ), sophomore Hannah Davis (Bethel, DE) and junior Carly Setting (Middletown, Del.) all getting RBI.
Leaving no room for the Lions to gain a run, the Lightning added three more runs in the second inning with the final run gained off Davis'Â single that scored freshman Morgan McLane (Clayton, Del.) to make it 10-0.
Freshman Alex Lowry (Wenonah, N.J.) ripped a two-run double to center field in the third inning, scoring Henriquez and freshman Bri Snover (Claymont, Del.) for a 12-0 contest.
A third-inning single by Newsom scored freshman Abby Husser (Bethlehem, PA.) for a 14-0 contest, capping the scoring for the Lightning and leaving the Lions with no answers.
Lincoln gained a run in the fifth off a wild pitch to bring home Simone Hanner, but was not enough as Goldey-Beacom secured the victory via the run rule.
Setting recorded three hits. Henriquez, Lowry, Newsom and Davis each had two hits and a pair of RBI.
McLane pitched two innings in the win, (9-6), striking out two. Husser threw a pair of innings from the bullpen, striking out two for the Lightning (22-21).
Goldey-Beacom hosts Nyack College on Saturday in a CACC doubleheader starting at 1pm.Â
