Women’s Tennis Ends Season With 7-0 Blanking of West Chester

Goldey-Beacom ended the 2021-22 campaign in rousing fashion with a 7-0 Senior Day triumph over West Chester at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning took two of the three doubles matches to open a 1-0 lead.  Sophomores Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) and Andrea Fresneda (Valencia, Spain) got a 7-6 (7-3) triumph at No. 2 doubles over Elaina Lee and Gabriella Lerario with sophomores Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) and Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) teaming at third doubles for a 6-3 win over Yuno Oe and Alyssa Sklusky.
 
Goldey-Beacom then ran through the singles matches without dropping a set.  Sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) recorded a 7-5, 6-1 win over Tori Alexander at first singles, Radeke notched a 6-3, 6-3 victory vs. Davica Massaro at No. 2 singles and Van Veen posted a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at third singles over Lee.  Fresenda got a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles over Amber Nguyen, sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) notched a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at fifth singles over Oe and Anderson amassed a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles vs. Skulsky.
 
This concludes a season in which Fresneda, named second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, had the most singles victories with nine.  Lang was a close second at eight.  Anderson recorded the most doubles triumphs with 10.
 
Both schools are 7-8 on the season.
