Coming off an upset victory over the 23rd-ranked team in the country, Goldey-Beacom's attempt at a second straight win came up short in a 5-2 loss at No. 48 Queens (NY) in Flushing, NY.

GBC was playing its first match since last Thursday's 4-3 upset of the District of Columbia, but found itself down 1-0 after dropping the doubles point.  This was despite the third doubles team of sophomores Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) and Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) getting a 6-3 victory over Mariana Ling and Caroline Fawzy.

Anderson had the Lightning's top showing with a 7-5, 6-1 triumph at No. 6 singles over Lilly Schmidt.  Sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) also won her match for GBC (6-8), amassing a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 victory at first singles against Maja Makal from Queens (9-7).

Goldey-Beacom ends the 2021-22 campaign Wednesday at home against West Chester.  The match time at Delcastle Tennis Center is at noon.
