Goldey-Beacom Women's Tennis secured a 4-3 victory over the No. 23 ranked and reigning East Coast Conference champion District of Columbia in a non-conference match at Delcastle Tennis Center.
The Lightning won the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles pairing in sophomores Salome Lang (Panazol, France) and Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) recorded a 6-3 win over Simone Parn and Sofia Bellucco. At No. 2 doubles, sophomores Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) and Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) took a 6-2 victory over Joanna Skrzypczynska and Laura Marie.
In the singles matches, Lang grabbed a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles over Parn. Radeke at No. 2 singles gained the win to even the tie with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Mariona Franco. The Lightning (6-7) secured the win at No. 3 singles with Van Veen battling for a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Bellucco from UDC (15-2).
Goldey-Beacom travels to Flushing, NY on Tuesday to face Queens College. The match begins at 11:00 am.
