Goldey-Beacom Men's & Women's Track and Field teams traveled to Salisbury, MD on Saturday to compete in the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet.
The women's team recorded a team combined 127 points, taking second place on the day just nine points behind the host team Salisbury University.
Freshman Karla Chardon (Penns Grove, N.J.) recorded a pair of first-place finishes of her own in both fielding and track. Chardon dominated in the javelin throw at 35.14 meters and secured the win in the 200-meter dash at a time of 27.86.
Junior Kayla Cook (Hebron, MD.) secured a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash at 13:32 seconds.
Freshman Ida Rose Moore (Bear, Del.)Â took a first-place finish in the long jump at 5.10 meters.
In field events, junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, N.J.) recorded two second-place finishes, in the shot put at 11.36 meters and the discus throw at 35.27 meters. Harrison placed third in the javelin throw as well at 26.25 meters.
Savannah Boyce (Somerdale, N.J.) took second place in the high jump at 1.42 meters and fellow freshman Juanita Wiggins (Hampton, VA.) secured second place in the long jump at 5.00 meters.
Sophomores Alexia Cornish (Milford, Del.) and Star Beasley (Cherry Hill, N.J.) each recorded third-place finishes in their respective events. Cornish threw 11.01 meters in the shot put and Beasley recorded a height of 1.37 meters in the high jump.
On the track, sophomore Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del.) took second place in the 5000-meter run at 20:46.66.
Wiggins recorded a second place finish the 200-meter dash at a time of 28.24 seconds.Â
Sophomore Hailey Crawford (Newark, Del.) secured a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:04.70.
Sophomore Camilla Flagg (Mardela Springs, MD.) closed in fourth place in the 1500-meter run at 5:42.8. Freshman Ny'Jashia Smith (Wilmington, Del.) followed behind for fifth place at 5:47.67.
Smith also recorded a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:40.86. In the same event, freshman Maddie Cool (Smyrna, Del.) ended in fifth place at a time of 2:41.69.Â
Moore recorded a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:18.53.
The men's team ended the day with a team fourth-place finish.Â
Sophomore Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA.) recorded a first-place finish in the 5000-meter run at 15:52.98. Freshman York Miles also secured a first-place finish in the 800-meter run 2:01.05.
In the 4x400-meter relay, senior Hamza Barnes (Philadelphia, PA.), junior Brian Mohamed (Newark, Del.) along with freshmen Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, Del.) and A'mair Buffaloe (Prospect Park, N.J.) recorded a second-place finish at 3:34.92.
Sophomore Micah White (Edison, N.J.) took fourth place in the 800-meter run at a time of 2:07.37.
Buffaloe added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 23.29.
In field events, freshman Jacob Wells (New Port Richey, Fla.) took a second-place finish in the javelin throw at 52.56 meters.
Sophomore Jordan Cheaton (Middletown, Del.) secured second-place in the discus throw at 36.72 meters. Cheaton also took a third-place finish in the shot put at 11.67 meters.
Junior Jayden Velazquez (Middletown, Del.) placed fourth in the javelin throw at 40.24 meters. Freshman Derek Ongeri (Smyrna, Del.) placed fifth in the high jump at 1.70 meters. Â

After today's performance's, Goldey-Beacom had 36 qualifying marks among its athletes for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in May.
Goldey-Beacom returns to action on Saturday, March 19Â as the teams travel to Fredericksburg, VA. to compete in the UMW Opener meet. Events begin at 10am.
