Goldey-Beacom dropped two games, 5-2 and 9-6, at home Saturday against Dominican (NY) College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup in Jackson Complex.
In game one, the Lightning took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after freshman Alex Lowry (Wenonah, N.J.) homered to right field, RBI, her first career home run.
The Chargers gained momentum in the fourth inning, tying the game 1-1 after Madison Walker singled through the left side to score Rebecca Haggerty. Dominican added two more runs in the inning as Brooke Lockwood reached first on a throwing error, scoring Kamryn Raya and Walker, 3-1.
A fifth-inning run by the Chargers on a ground out to the third baseman, scored Kristin Miscia to extend the lead, 4-1.
Goldey-Beacom put up a run in the same inning after Lowry reached on a fielder's choice, scoring senior Jaeda Henriquez (Jersey City, N.J.), 4-2. But Dominican put up a fifth and final run in the sixth inning after Elizabeth Tolkan scored on a throwing error by the catcher to seal the 5-2 victory.
Lowry recorded two hits and two RBI. Freshman Kelly Forrest (Middletown, Del.) also added two hits for the Lightning.
Freshman Abby Husser (Bethlehem, PA.) pitched 3 2/3 innings, striking out four and walking one (2-5).
In game two, Goldey-Beacom took a 3-0 lead capped by a deep single up the middle by senior Chrissy Jordan (Pasadena, MD.) that scored sophomore Hannah Davis (Bethel, Del.).
The Lightning were plagued by fielding errors as the Chargers in the third inning gained two runs in Miscia and Toni-Jo Lopez, 3-2.
In the same inning, the Lightning gained a two-run triple to right field by junior Bianca Newsom (Edison, N.J.) drove home sophomore Nicole Makin (Edgewater Park, M.J.) and junior Kayla Vaillancourt (Edgewater, MD.), 5-2. A fielder's choice, sacrifice bunt by Davis, scored Newsom to extend the lead 6-2.
Dominican tied the game in a huge seventh inning after Walker doubled through the right center, scoring Haggerty, 6-6. Three more runs ensued, all unearned, as Adriana Barnes doubled down the right field line to score Walker, Madison Navarette doubled to left center to score Barnes, and Miscia singled through the left side to score Navarette in the final 9-6.
Lowry recorded three hits. Newsom added two runs, two hits and a pair of RBI.

Goldey-Beacom has a quick turnaround as the team hosts Mansfield on Sunday in a non-conference doubleheader matchup starting at noon. The team will be honoring their seniors prior to the first pitch.
