Goldey-Beacom returned to action on Thursday, splitting a pair against non-conference opponent Millersville University by taking game one 2-0 and falling 5-1 in game two in Millersville, PA.

In game one, the Lightning took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after sophomore Gwen Safin (Stroudsburg, PA.) homered to right field. In the fifth inning, a double to left-center field by senior Jaeda Henriquez (Jersey City, N.J.), scored freshman Carly Setting (Middletown, Del.) for the 2-0 final victory.

Safin tossed a six-hit shutout with three strikeouts for the win (2-4).

In game two, Millersville took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after Gabi Turner scored on a wild pitch. The Marauders put up four more runs in the fifth inning capped by Alexis Harkins driving home on a wild pitch to exhaust the Lightning, 5-0.
