Men's & Women's Track and Field Open 2022 Campaign at Alvernia Plex Shootout

Goldey-Beacom Men's & Women's Track & Field teams opened their spring 2022 season on Saturday, competing in the programs first indoor meet at the Alvernia Plex Shootout in Reading, PA.

In men's fielding events, junior Eli Taylor (Smyrna, Del.) captured ninth place in the shot put at a distance of 12.30 meters (40'4.25"). Freshman Daniel Brown-Gordon had a 25th-place finish at a distance of 8.03 meters (26'4.25").

For the weight throw, freshman Jacob Wells (New Port Richey, Fla) took 18th place at a distance of 7.11 meters (23'4").

In the men's 5000-meter run, sophomore Michael Marioni (Glendora, N.J.) took 11th place with a completion time of 16:56.84 with fellow sophomore teammate DJ Farren (Lewes, Del.) placing 20th with a time of 18:51.53.

Sophomore Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, P.A.) placed 15th in the 3000-meter run at a time of 9:23.66.

Freshman York Miles placed 16th in the 400-meter race with a time of 55.57. Freshman teammate Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, Del.) took the 18th finishing spot with a time of 55:99 in the same heat.

In the men's 800 meter race, sophomore Micah White (Edison, N.J.) placed 30th with a time of 2:12.15. Fellow sophomore teammates Kyle Scherer (Wilmington, Del.) followed behind placing 33rd at a time of 2:14.35 and sophomore Tymir Ash-Shaheed (Middletown, Del.) closed at 43rd at 2:21.58.

On the women's side, sophomore Hailey Crawford (Newark, Del.) captured 17th place in the 400-meter race at a time of 1:07.31 and in the 200-meter dash placed 34th at a time of 29.39.

Sophomore Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del.) closed in 20th place in the 3000-meter run at a time of 12:22.81. Cannon also placed 40th in the 800-meter race at a time of 2:46.62.

For women's field events, sophomore Alexia Cornish (Milford, Del.) led the way in the shot put taking 19th place with a distance of 9.28 meters (30'5.50"). Fellow sophomore teammate Damia White (Ridgeton, N.J.) secured 22nd place at a distance of 8.23 meters (27'0") and junior Tee Tee Martin (Federalsburg, MD.) took 26th place at 7.29 meters (23'11").

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Sunday, February 20 at 10:30am as both teams travel to Princeton, NJ to compete in the Princeton Invitational.
