Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Dealt 91-81 Loss by Felician

Goldey-Beacom succumbed to a late run and was handed a 91-81 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss by Felician at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning were in the thick of things courtesy of an 18-11 run over seven minutes, producing a 72-72 deadlock with 6:30 remaining.  Senior Tyler Jones (Lawrenceville, NJ) scored 10 points in that span with junior Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA) adding four.

Felician then reestablished momentum by going on a 9-3 run over 2 1/2 minutes to gain an 81-75 lead with 3:42 to play.  Etnik Peci was the go-to guy for the Golden Falcons in that span, netting every point.

GBC sophomore Nazim Derry (Atlantic City, NJ) canned two free throws with 3:30 left for an 81-77 game, before Dee-End McRae hit a layup 16 seconds later to put Felician up six.

Derry made a layup with 3:08 remaining for an 83-79 deficit and Peci followed suit to regain the six-point margin.  Followed a series of empty possessions, McRae's layup with 46 seconds left made it 87-79 to all but end things.

Jones scored a season-best 23 points that is one off his personal high, Derry netted 17 and Ligonde added 12 for the Lightning (10-10, 6-5 CACC), who shot 45 percent (33-of-73) from the floor.

Derry now is 20th in program history with 715 career points.  It was his first game since becoming the program's single-season leader in 3-pointers, bumping his total today to 76.

Peci netted 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting, Justin Davis netted 18 points off the bench, Jaylen Colon had 15 and nine rebounds, Nas Amos scored 15 points with McRae adding 10 and 11 rebounds for the Golden Falcons (12-7, 7-4), who shot 60 percent (35-of-58) from the field.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday visits Jefferson for an 8:00 pm contest.  The women's game between the same schools is at 6:00 pm.
