Women’s Basketball Falls at Holy Family



Goldey-Beacom ran into a hot-shooting squad from Holy Family and was handed a 76-37 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss in Philadelphia, PA.
 
Holy Family gained control in the opening half with a 41-15 intermission lead, shooting 64 percent from the floor with five 3-pointers.  Lindsay Tretter and Jessica Riepe scored eight points apiece with Carolyn Prevost adding seven and five rebounds.
 
Sophomore Briana Seltzer (Reading, PA) closed the game with 10 points in going 7-for-7 from the foul line, junior Alanna Speaks (Dover, DE) had six points and five rebounds with junior Mone Izumi (Fukuoka, Japan) and freshman Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) adding six points apiece for the Lightning (7-18, 2-15 CACC).
 
Prevost poured in 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting with 10 rebounds, Tretter scored 17 points, Riepe netted 11 with Ava Morrow adding nine for the Tigers (14-12, 9-8), who shot 53 percent (31-of-59) from the field with eight 3-pointers.
 
Goldey-Beacom closes its season Saturday at home against Wilmington, beginning at 1:00 pm.  The men's contest between the same schools follows at 3:00 pm.
