Goldey-Beacom Men's & Women's Track and Field traveled to Princeton, N.J. on Sunday to compete in the Princeton Invitational for its second meet of the season.
In the women's competition, sophomore captain Camilla Flagg (Mardela Springs, MD.) recorded a second-place finish in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:39.79. Sophomore Hailey Crawford (Newark, Del.) finished not too far behind, taking fourth place with a completion time of 2:41.96.
In the 60-meter run, freshman Karla Chardon (Penns Grove, N.J.) took sixth place with a time of 8.11. For the 1000-meter run, freshman Ny'jashia Smith (Wilmington, Del.) ended in seventh place at a time of 3:35.40.
For the one-mile race, sophomore Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del.) placed 10th with a time of 5:57.17 and freshman Maddie Cool (Smyrna, Del.) ended in 13th place at 6:26.22.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the Lightning ended in fourth place at a time of 4:41.41 team consisting of junior Kayla Cook (Hebron, MD.), Crawford, Cannon and Flagg.
In field events, Chardon placed sixth in the Shot Put at 10.71 meters and teammate sophomore Alexia Cornish (Milford, Del.) took ninth place at 9.46 meters.
For the men's competition, the 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Tyler Green (Middletown, Del.), senior captain Hamza Barnes (Philadelphia, PA.), freshman Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, Del.) and junior Brian Mohamed (Newark, DE) captured second place ending at a time of 3:30.50.
In the one-mile race, the sophomores dominated in Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA.) took fourth place at 4:43.49, Chris Crossen (Magnolia, Del.) closed behind in fifth place at 4:51.21, and Michael Marioni (Glendora, N.J.) finished in 10th place at a time of 4:56.64.
Green placed sixth at a time of 7.15 in the 60-meter race.
In the 800-meter race, Miles captured fourth place with a time of 2:01.78 and in the 500-meter race took fifth place at 1:11.03. Sophomore Kyle Scherer (Wilmington, Del.) closed right behind at sixth place at a time of 1:12.68.
Green placed fifth in the 200-meter race at a time of 22.99 and teammate freshman A'mair Buffaloe (Prospect Park, N.J.) closed in 10th place at 23.57.
Goldey-Beacom notched back-to-back finishes in the 400-meter race as junior Brian Mohamed (Newark, Del.) secured eighth place at 53.95, freshman Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, Del.) took ninth at 54.04 and sophomore Emmanuel Otsyina (Aston, PA.) finished 10th at 54.86.
In field events, for the long jump, freshman Manny Carranza (Milford, Del.) placed fourth at 6.02 meters and fifth in the triple jump at 12.15 meters.
In the shot put, junior Eli Taylor (Smyrna, Del.) placed fifth at 13.48 meters, sophomore Jordan Cheaton (Middletown, Del.) took seventh at 12.27 meters and freshman Jacob Wells (New Port Richey, Fla.) placed eighth at 10.53Â meters.
Goldey-Beacom travels to Staten Island, NY on Friday as both teams compete in the Ocean Breeze Invitational. The events begin at 3pm.Â
