Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Dealt 84-67 Loss at Saint Rose

Three players scoring in double figures was not enough for the strong play of Saint Rose, resulting in a 84-67 loss for Goldey-Beacom in Albany, NY.

Goldey-Beacom showed an early spark, going on a 16-5 scoring run to take a 16-11 lead halfway through the first half. A good jumper by sophomore Tyshon Judge (Merchantville, NJ) followed by back-to-back scores by sophomore David Aikens (Absecon, NJ) began the push for the Lightning.

A final 17-4 Golden Knights push at the end of the first half continued into the second. The Golden Knights shot 45-percent from the floor to continue their lead throughout the half. Despite the strong offensive play of the Golden Knights, the Lightning shot 40-percent, led by freshman Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ), who scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

Goldey-Beacom (3-5, 1-1 CACC) was led by Marsh, who finished with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and seven rebounds. Aikens netted 12 points and Judge closed with 11 points. The Lightning outscored the Golden Knights on points off turnovers 24-14, forcing 22 turnovers by Saint Rose.

Eric Fleming proved unstoppable, ending with 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting. Keegan Zoller netted 12 points, Shane O'Dell notched 10 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, and Josh McGettigan added 10 points and nine rebounds for Saint Rose (6-5, 1-4 NE10).

Goldey-Beacom head to Garden City, NY on Monday to face Adelphi at 7:30pm.
