Volleyball Ends Season With 3-0 Loss to Felician

As the squad said goodbye to two high-profile seniors, Goldey-Beacom made things interesting in the third set but finished its season with a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (21-25, 18-25, 22-25) to Felician at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

Tonight marked the final match for senior setter Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV), an outstanding athlete and superior teammate who battled through injury in returning to the court and making everyone around her better people and volleyball players.  The College's 2022 nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year and three-time member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll, Spendlove graduates second in team history with 2,337 assists.

It also was the final match for senior Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ), a prolific outside hitter who in 2018 and 2019 was picked third team all-conference.  A dominant player at the net who will be tough to replace, she ends her career second in team history with 1,160 kills, eighth with 125 aces and just outside the school's top 10 list with 97 blocks.

Goldey-Beacom tonight in the third set raced to a 13-9 lead thanks to three kills from freshman Megan Chesser (Grove City, OH) and had all the momentum.  However, Felician stormed back on a 16-9 run to end the match that was keyed by five kills from Hannah Chiswick.

Spendlove dished 31 assists, sophomore Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) had 11 kills and a season-best 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, Boyce pounded 11 kills and junior Rachel Cohen (Port Deposit, MD) amassed 15 digs for the Lightning (2-28, 1-16 CACC).

Sara Betts notched 13 kills and a .370 hitting percentage, Chiswick had 12 kills and 13 digs with Miquela Martinez getting 35 assists and 13 digs for the Golden Falcons (4-25, 3-15).
