Men's Soccer Battle in Season Finale, Falling 1-0 at Wilmington (DE)

Goldey-Beacom pushed to the end in its final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match, falling 1-0 at Wilmington (DE) in Newark, DE.

Both teams went scoreless in the first half, with freshman Oscar Tengmark (Varnamo, Sweden) totaling five saves for the Lightning.

The Wildcats created the only goal of the match in the 66th minute. Marcus Hedemann crossed the ball to the middle from the right side for Tyler Guadagno to finish.

Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) tallied two shots. Tengmark, who has had an impressive first season for the Lightning, notched seven saves on the match, finishing the season with a .603 save percentage.

Goldey-Beacom has competed this year with a primarily young lineup, honoring only two seniors on senior day. Sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, DE) has led the way for the Lightning, showing a great deal of poise and totaling 10 points on the season. There are large amounts of optimism about the 2023 season with the returning players having gained experience over the last two years.
