Zehra Canbaz Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom women's tennis freshman Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) has played exceptionally well in the start of her career and today she got affirmation of that in being picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Canbaz went 2-1 last week both in singles and doubles. She got a straight-sets victory at No. 2 singles over Post and Dominican (NY) before teaming with freshman Hannah Brandl (Neufeld, Austria) for wins at No. 2 doubles against the same schools.

Canbaz primarily has played at No. 2 singles, amassing three wins, and at No. 2 doubles against some of the area's best units.

Goldey-Beacom (3-6, 3-6 CACC) goes into Tuesday one match behind Chestnut Hill (4-5) and Post (4-5) for third place in the CACC. The winner of Tuesday's regular-season finale between Goldey-Beacom and Post clinches the last available spot in the CACC Tournament.

Match time Tuesday at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington is at 2:00 pm.
