Women's Tennis Notch a 4-3 Victory at Post

Goldey-Beacom claimed a huge 4-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win against Post in Middlebury, CT to keep alive its hopes of making the conference tournament.
 
The Lightning opened strong, claiming the doubles point. Freshmen Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) and Hannah Brandl (Neufeld, Austria) grabbed a 6-2 victory over Nina Langenfeld and Julia D'Occhio. Junior Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) and sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) both continue impressive play. They battled to a 7-6 (17-15) win against Annunciata De-Souza and Micaela Rosignuolo.
 
The momentum of the Lightning continued into singles play.  Canbaz notched a 6-1, 6-4 win at second singles over Megan Lambardt, with Brandl grabbing a victory at fifth singles 6-4, 6-4 over Natalia Gonzalez Ramos.
 
Sophomore Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) took a 6-2 win in the first set at fourth singles before falling 6-4, 6-4 in the final two sets to Langenfeld. The final win of the match came from freshman Jess Sanzo (Bristol, England). Sanzo notched a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win over D'Occhio to seal the match for the Lightning.
 
Goldey-Beacom return to Delcastle Tennis Center on Sunday to face Dominican (NY) at 12pm.
