Women’s Tennis Handed 7-0 Loss by Wilmington (DE)

Goldey-Beacom played competitively against one of the top squad's in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was handed a 7-0 loss by Wilmington (DE) at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning's best chance to get on the scoreboard came from junior Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela), who has provided nothing but great play during her time in Pike Creek.  After getting a 7-5 victory in a first-set tiebreak against Marleyna Trifunovic, Bruno saw her match at No. 3 singles go to a match tiebreak before resulting in a 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (14-12) loss.
 
Sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) got her second set at No. 1 singles to a 12th game before she dropped a 6-1, 7-5 contest to Carmelle Vial.  Freshman Hannah Brandl (Neufeld, Austria) went to a first-set tiebreak at fourth singles before she was dealt a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 loss by Alva Norberg.
 
Goldey-Beacom returns to action Friday at Post for a 3:00 pm match in Middlebury, CT.
