Volleyball Drops a Pair at Ramfest



Goldey-Beacom ended its time at Ramfest with a 3-1 loss (9-25, 25-21, 16-25, 17-25) to Millersville before a tough 3-2 setback (20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 4-15) against Mercyhurst in West Chester, PA.
 
Against Millersville, Goldey-Beacom in the second set held its opponents to just a -.088 hitting percentage with 10 errors.  But the Marauders notched 22 kills over the next two sets to 16 for GBC.
 
Junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) and freshman Piper Nanouski (Ottawa, IL) had seven kills apiece, Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) dished 23 assists and senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) had 10 digs for the Lightning.
 
Caitlyn Callahan recorded 13 kills, Emma Ludwig had 28 assists and Rebecca Dalstad notched 12 digs for the Marauders (2-1).
 
The Lightning in the third set of their match against the Lakers pounded 20 kills with just four errors for a .410 hitting percentage to grab a 2-1 lead.  Syrdahl and Nanouski recorded three kills apiece during that span.
 
Syrdahl ended with 13 kills, Nanouski amassed 12 and 10 digs, junior Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) notched 12 kills, Spendlove had 39 assists, Roman Concepcion recorded 34 digs with senior Courtney Bublitz (North East, MD) adding 10.
 
Beth Brady notched 11 kills, Alexa Mitchell had 25 assists with Hannah Vuylsteke added 17 digs for the Lakers.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Thursday visits Bowie State for a 7:00 pm match.
