Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ida has wreaked havoc with Goldey-Beacom's season opening soccer games against Bloomsburg as the teams announce time and site changes.
The games Thursday have been moved to the Chase Fieldhouse (401 Garasches Lane, Wilmington, DE) with the women's contest going at noon and the men playing at 2:15 pm.
The men's team (11-7-1, 8-4 CACC) during the 2019 campaign recorded a seven-game winning streak, hosted a conference quarterfinal game for the second time in three years, broke the team record with six road wins and its eight league triumphs were one shy of the school record. It also had a 10-game run in which it did not permit more than one goal in any of those matches.
The women's unit (11-7-2, 8-3-1 CACC) in 2019 had yet another solid campaign in which its overall wins fell one shy of the school record, its eight home victories also is one short of a team mark and it outscored its opponents 61-31. The squad played in the CACC Tournament a school-record sixth straight year, hosted a quarterfinal game for a program-best fourth consecutive season and advanced to the semifinals for a third straight year.
