Thoughts from Coach Bill Streets
On what changed in game two from game one: "I think in that first game we got down six runs early and kids were struggling but we hit the ball well in that game and they just made some great plays on us. The second game, we said hey this team is even with us. We should be able to win the second ball game. I'd love to win a doubleheader, but the second game they just realized we are just as good as they are. They came out and had some key hits. Braydee Whitman again hitting the ball tremendously. Brooke Conaty now that she is back, she is hitting the ball consistently. I am proud of Kylie Seagroves because that was her first collegiate win today."
On what was learned from today's games: "They do not quit. They overcome adversity. They had a couple balls hit in which they made tremendous plays on but they did not quit. They continue to fight and battle on so that is what I like about them."
What is a goal you would love to accomplish before the end of the year: "I'd love to be able to play competitive ball against Dominican and Georgian Court. They are the two top teams in the conference and I think that if we play our A game, we can compete with them. I think that we have a good shot at splitting some of the games. You know the season has been a long season with cCvid and rainouts – it has been tough for us playing back to back like this."
