Goldey-Beacom was handed a pair of losses by Wilmington University, dropping game one 10-0 and fighting back to no avail for a 10-2 loss in game two in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup.
Wilmington University in the second inning of game two plated seven runs to push the lead to 8-0 in a well-balanced team effort. A handful of wild pitches gave the Wildcats momentum that ended with Isabella Eleazar grounding out to the second baseman scoring Lauren Lopez.
Senior Kasey Goshorn (Salisbury, MD) led the effort in the top of the third for the Lightning after hitting a double to left center, scoring junior Zoe Lockwood (Chesapeake City, MD) and freshman Hannah Davis (Bethel, DE).
Molly Dill allowed one hit in the game with two strikeouts in the win.
The Wildcats controlled game one, jumping to a 2-0 lead led by Lauren Lopez' single through the left side. Arianna Millian added a double to right center in the fourth before Jessica Ahearn hit a fly out to right field scoring Millian in the 10-0 win.
Goldey-Beacom hosts Post University on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 1 PM.
