Goldey-Beacom fell on the road Sunday in a 64-62 close game defeat to Bowie State in a non-conference matchup in Bowie, MD.

The Lightning held a one possession lead, 33-31, at the end of the second quarter after freshman Kanisa Tucker (Newark, Del.) split a pair of free throws with 19 seconds left.

In the third quarter, the Bulldogs battled back, tying the game, 44-44 with 2:48 remaining on a jumper by Talayna Hutton. The Lightning responded with an 8-2 run to end the third quarter with a 52-46 lead.

The Lightning displayed an impressive third quarter team offensive attack going 6-of-13, 46 percent from the field and going 3-of-4, 75 percent from the 3-point arc and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.

The fourth quarter posed a back-and-forth battle as both teams exuded their defensive prowess. The Bulldogs took the lead once more at the 6:07 mark with layup from Hutton (54-55). Sophomore Mickey Williams (Wamboin, Australia) converted on a pair of free throws to tie the game again at 58-58 in the final 1:39 but was not enough as the Bulldogs capitalized on going 4-for-7 from the foul line.

Sophomore Briana Seltzer (Reading, Pa.) had another solid game dropping 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting with three 3-pointers.  Junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) poured in 15 points and added eight rebounds. Williams scored 12 points, going 6-of-9 from the field and 2-for-3 beyond the arc for the Lightning.
