Goldey-Beacom Women's Tennis battled in a 4-3 loss against the University of the Sciences on Saturday in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at Delcastle Tennis Center.
The Devils were able to win the doubles point 2-1. The third-team doubles pair in sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) and freshman Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) held the sole doubles victory, 6-0, over Stephanie Mazurek and Han Le in the effort.
In the singles matchups, sophomore Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) captured a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Kirsten Wijnsema at No. 2 singles.
At No.3 singles, sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) in her first match of the season seized a 6-3, 6-1 win over Rosemary Esquivel. It was the 12th straight singles victory for the 2019 first team All-CACC member.
Sophomore Andrea Fresneda (Valencia, Spain) took a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Le at No. 6 singles.
The Lightning's No.1 singles sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) retired after being tied 6-1, 2-6.
Goldey-Beacom faces Wilmington (DE) U. on Wednesday at Delcastle Tennis Center. The match begins at 1 PM.
