Goldey-Beacom's Women's Tennis fell on the road Tuesday, 4-3, to Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match in Philadelphia, PA.
The Griffins won the doubles point by grabbing two of the rubbers. The third-team doubles pair of sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) and freshman Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) held the Lightning's sole doubles victory, 7-5, over Alani Connor and Gianna Vassuzzuuo.
In the singles matches, sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) led the way at No.1 singles by recording at 7-5, 6-2 victory over Cariota Garcia. Lang was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll coming off her September 28 honor of being tabbed Player of the Week.
Sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) at No. 5 singles recorded a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Connor. At No. 6 singles, sophomore Andrea Fresneda (Valencia, Spain) took a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Vassuzzuuo. Fresneda now sits at 4-0 in singles matches on the season.
Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Saturday as it hosts University of the Sciences, beginning at noon.
