Goldey-Beacom battled in the third set, to no avail, falling 3-0 to Georgian Court University on Tuesday in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup in the Jones Center.
The Lions had controlled the first set in the 25-8 defeat with a 13-3 kills advantage, helping their own cause with a team combined .333 hitting percentage and with only a pair of errors while holding the Lightning to –.167 hitting percentage.
The Lightning fought back in the third set, recording a team 12 kills on a .179 hitting percentage, falling 26-28 in the rally.
Senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) recorded 22 digs as she is now only 22 away from her 1,000th career dig (978). Roman Concepcion reaching this milestone will be the first player in program history to achieve this in only two seasons.
Freshman Savannah Boyce (Somerdale, N.J.) recorded 7 kills. Five kills each came from junior Julia Sydahl (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Piper Nanouski (Ottawa, Ill.). Freshman Rylen Carroll (Monroe, Ohio) dished 13 assists in the effort.
For the Lions, Grace Fenn and Kinsy Haschke each contributed 12 kills on a .286 and .229 hitting percentage respectively. Trillby Kite dished out 26 assists, while Ava Venerri and Amiyah Woods forced three blocks apiece in the 3-0 victory.
Goldey-Beacom travels to Philadelphia, PA on Thursday to face Chesnut Hill College starting at 7 PM.
