Women’s Tennis Cruises to 7-0 Triumph Over Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom remained undefeated in the young season and did not drop a set in notching a 7-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over Dominican (NY) at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The doubles point once again went the Lightning's way.  Sophomores Salome Lang (Panazol, France) and Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) got a 6-0 win over Isha Mbaye and Nora Frederick at first doubles with sophomores Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) and Andrea Fresneda (Valencia, Spain) notching a 6-1 triumph against Steffy Espejo and Alyssa Hamblin at No. 2 doubles.  Sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) and freshman Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) moved to 3-0 this season with a 6-1 win vs. Rupkatha Mukherjee and Ava O'Brien at third doubles.
 
Lang continued her dominance at first singles for GBC (3-0, 2-0 CACC) with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Espejo and Radeke got a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at second singles over Mukherjee from Dominican (0-3, 0-3).  Fresneda moved to 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at fourth singles over Frederick and Anderson led Mbaye 5-2 at No. 3 singles before the latter retired.
 
Hendin-Walker improved to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at fifth singles over O'Brien with freshman Maria Polania (Bogata, Colombia) getting a 6-0, 6-2 triumph vs. Hamblin at sixth singles in her first match of the season.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday is on the road to visit Chestnut Hill for a 2:30 pm match in Philadelphia, PA.
