Women's Tennis Gains a 5-2 Victory At Post

Goldey-Beacom Women's Tennis team gained a 5-2 victory on Saturday over Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup in Waterbury, CT.

The Lightning gained the doubles point by taking two of the matches.  The second team doubles pair of sophomores Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) and Andrea Fresneda (Valencia, Spain) took a 6-2 victory over Andrea Sandoval and Alexandra Dereban. The third doubles team of Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) and Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) captured a 6-1 win over Julia D-Occhio and Sabrina Martino.

In singles, Radeke gained a victory at No. 2 singles of 6-3, 6-0 over Sandoval. At No. 3 singles, Fresneda took a 6-2, 7-6 victory over Dereban. Fresneda is undefeated this season, 6-0, in singles.

At No. 5 singles, sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) secured a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over D' Occhio and at No. 6 singles Hendin-Walker also completed a sweep victory over Sabrina Martino.

The Lightning hold a 4-3 overall record and are 3-3 in the CACC.

Goldey-Beacom awaits its seeding for the 2021 CACC Women's Tennis Championships. The semifinals are Friday, Oct. 22 at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
