Goldey-Beacom College Vice President for Student Affairs and Athletics Chuck Hammond along with Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletics Jesse Balcer on November 11 will be featured on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Retrospective Series.

The two recently were interviewed by CACC Associate Commissioner Doug DeBiase on their friendship after both were roommates at league-rival Philadelphia University (present-day Thomas Jefferson University).  The two also served as the men's basketball coach at their current schools.

The interview will be available November 11 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time on CACCnetwork.com.

Hammond joined the College in 2003 and served in several leadership roles including athletic director and adjunct professor in addition to his coaching duties.  He managed a staff of over 50 coaches, administrators and student workers, supervising 11 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II sponsored sports.  He made significant upgrades to the athletics facilities and created new full-time positions, including compliance specialist and baseball coach/athletic development specialist.

Hammond in 2016 was promoted to Dean of Students before this summer's elevation to his current position.

He was recognized as the CACC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2012, achieving the highest cumulative GPA (3.28) among student-athletes in school history.  Hammond also guided the Lightning to CACC South Division titles in 2011 and 2012, three straight appearances in the CACC final (2010-12) and the 2007 ECAC Division II championship.  He is the program's winningest coach with 164 victories.

Hammond holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Philadelphia University and a Master of Arts in Education from Temple University.

This is the third feature this year the CACC has done on a current/former member of Goldey-Beacom Athletics.  The 2016 & 2017 CACC championship Women's Tennis teams were highlighted along with Assistant Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator/Women's Basketball coach Bethann Burke and her husband, Dan.
