Women’s Tennis Stays Red Hot With 7-0 Triumph Over Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom took early control of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match with Dominican (NY) and cruised to a 7-0 victory at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning opened the first match between the schools by grabbing all three doubles rubbers.  Senior Alma Garcia Valle (Valladolid, Spain) and freshman Sara Edebo (Gothenburg, Sweden) got a 6-4 win over Isha Mbaye and Elizabeth Hixson at first doubles, sophomore Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) and senior Silvia Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) rolled to a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles over Paula Gutierrez and Nora Frederick with junior Ksenija Markovic (Belgrade, Serbia) and freshman Aino Klintrup (Oulu, Finland) notching a 6-0 triumph at third doubles over Kendra Saintel and Joanna Spano.
 
Sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) made it 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles over Spano before Radeke notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles over Hixson.  Senior Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) posted a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at third singles over Joana Ndunduma before sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) got a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles over Mbaye.
 
Salome Lang (Panazol, France) recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win at first singles over Gutierrez before fellow sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) ended it at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Frederick.
 
Goldey-Beacom (3-0, 3-0 CACC) has won 27 of its last 28 CACC regular-season matches and is tied with Concordia-NY (3-0), University of the Sciences (3-0) and Chestnut Hill (3-0) atop the CACC.  Only the top two teams earn a bye into the semifinals of the six-team CACC Tournament.
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Tuesday against University of the Sciences at Delcastle Tennis Center.  First serve is at 3:00 pm.
