Women’s Tennis Rolls to 7-0 Triumph Over Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom took care of business with little trouble in a 7-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over Holy Family at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

Goldey-Beacom won two doubles matches for the first point with third doubles forfeited. Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) and fellow sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) got a 6-0 victory over Nathalie Rivera and Alleyn Llaban at first doubles before freshman Aino Klintrup (Oulu, Finland) and junior Ksenija Markovic (Belgrade, Serbia) posted a 6-2 win over Latifah Hinawy and Meghan Moyer at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Rivera at first singles, Van Veen recorded a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Llaban at No. 2 singles and sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) got a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles over Hinawy. Senior Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) had a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Moyer at fourth singles, Klintrup got a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles over Keisha Bowman and sixth singles was forfeited to GBC.

The Lightning (2-0, 2-0) now have won 26 of their last 27 CACC regular-season matches. The Tigers fell to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Goldey-Beacom is right back at it Sunday against Dominican (NY), beginning at 9:00 am at Delcastle Tennis Center.
