Goldey-Beacom's dynamic women's tennis duo of sophomores Lotte Lesscher y Post (Arnhem, Netherlands) and Catarina Zheng (Oporto, Portugal) have ended the season as the 29th-ranked doubles team in the country, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The two put forth an outstanding run this season after being ranked as high as sixth and end the campaign with a 21-5 record.  The two advanced to the ITA East Region doubles final and, against New York Tech earlier this spring, notched a 6-3 upset over the 30th-ranked tandem in the nation.

Their 37 career doubles victories are tied for the sixth-best total in school history and their 21 this season are the most by one tandem in program annals.

Lesscher y Post made incredible noise during the fall in being picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, one year after she was tabbed second team and the conference tournament's Most Outstanding Player.  She ended the season 15-6 in singles this season that includes 14-5 in dual play at first singles.

Zheng also has been a dynamo, getting picked first team all-league for a second straight year after making the 2017 CACC All-Tournament Team.  She amassed an 18-5 singles mark, which included 17-4 at second singles.

Zheng, who this season only saw one of her victories require a third set, is tied for eighth in team history with 36 career singles victories.

Goldey-Beacom (16-5, 7-1 CACC) this season advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament, the furthest any team in the College's history has proceeded in the tournament.  The team played in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in school history and clinched a share of a third straight CACC regular-season title.

The unit also has won 24 of its last 25 regular-season league matches and extended its run of making the conference semifinals to 11 straight seasons.

A major reason for Goldey-Beacom's success this season occurred April 2 when the squad recorded a huge 5-2 upset of New York Tech, then No. 35 in the nation and tops in the region.  GBC also topped Wilmington (ranked fifth in the East) and the District of Columbia (ranked seventh in the East) in the regular season.

GBC ends the spring 8-3 with just two losses coming to Division II opposition.  Among those victories included a 4-0 first-round NCAA victory over CACC-foe Concordia (NY) and a 4-0 second-round triumph at Stonehill.
