Softball Dealt a Pair of Losses to East Stroudsburg

Goldey-Beacom falls twice to East Stroudsburg, 3-0 and 5-0, in an out of conference match up in Wilmington, DE.

In game one, East Stroudsburg struck from the beginning. In the top of the first inning, Ashley Spencer reached on an error by the right fielder which allowed for two runners to score. Mikayla Pourby followed with a single RBI single to right field. 

Both teams continued to battle but the Warriors took game one 3-0.

Pourby (8-3) pitched all seven innings with three strike outs and did not give up any runs. 

Zoe Lockwood (Chesapeake City, Md.) went 2-for-2 in game one for the Lightning. 

In game two, East Stroudsburg took the early lead and never looked back. The Warriors went up 1-0 with a single RBI single by Denva Shaw-Taite in the top of the first. Rachel Seiverd hit a triple to right field for a single RBI to give the Warriors a two-point advantage in the top of the fourth.

The Warriors went on to score three more runs when Seiverd reached on a fielder's choice for a single RBI, Madison Vicendese hit a single RBI single through the left center, and Kaitlyn Caleen reached on an error by the third baseman which allowed for Marissa Govan to score.

East Stroudsburg took game two 5-0.

Kasey Goshorn (Salisbury, Md.), Dianna Gatto (Jefferson, N.J.), Kayla Vaillancourt (Edgewater, Md.) and Jess Lusk (Victoria, B.C.) all went 1-for-2 in game two for the Lightning.

Goldey-Beacom is back in action on Saturday in a doubleheader against Post at 1pm in Wilmington, DE.
