Goldey-Beacom's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship in Philadelphia, PA.
The men's squad was led again by freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA.) who finished in eighth place with a time of 28:23.2. This is Landvik-Larsen's third top 10 finish this year and he was named all-conference.
Freshman Chris Crossen (Magnolia, Del.) finished 24th in 29:47.6, sophomore Jon Roberts (Wilmington, Del.) ended 26th in 30:04.0Â and senior Jacob Smeltzer (Merchantville, N.J.) came in 49th with a time of 31:58.0.
The Lightning finished seventh overall and Wilmington took first with a score of 39.
For the women's team, junior Cara Jones (Wilmington, Del.) led the squad finishing 39th with a time of 23:28.7. Senior Mary Ann Jones (Frederick, Md.) closed 48th in 24:20.2, freshman Lilly Crone (Felton, Del.) finished 53rd in 24:52.3, sophomore Shawnae' Sykes (Wilmington, Del.) ended 62nd in 26:25.2, sophomore Sarah Webb (Newark, Del.) finished 63rd in 26:28, and freshman Lexy Horsey (Selbyville, Del.) placed 67th in 27:55.4.
Goldey-Beacom finished eighth overall with 261 points and Jefferson took first with a score of 42. It is the women's best finish since the 2007 campaign.
Both squads are back in action on November 9th for the NCAA Regional races in Philadelphia, PA.
