Goldey-Beacom's outstanding fall came to end with a 4-0 loss to Concordia (NY) in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference final in Middlebury, CT.

The Lightning were making their seventh appearance in the conference final and third in the last four years.  But a championship was not in the offering this year and the squad will have to wait until the spring to see if it earns a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Bright spots for the Lightning included sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France), freshman Sara Edebo (Gothenburg, Sweden) and senior Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) each winning the first set of their incomplete singles matches.  Van Veen and Edebo each were tabbed first team all-conference and today were picked to the all-tournament team.

Van Veen competed at second singles, Edebo at fourth and Hortelano Pey at sixth.

Goldey-Beacom (9-2) still had an outstanding fall under first-year coach Kristin Lake and will be back in the spring looking for a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.  The squad last season competed in the "Sweet 16" for the furthest any program has gone in this tournament in school history.

This season marked the 12th straight year the Lightning have played in the CACC Tournament with all resulting in at least a berth in the semifinals.
