Volleyball Falls, 3-0, at Nyack



Goldey-Beacom nearly climbed out of an early deficit, but left Nyack with a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference setback (15-25, 23-25, 22-25).
 
The Lightning in the second set recorded 10 kills and three aces in nearly pulling the match even, but the Warriors in the stanza amassed a .273 hitting percentage to open a two-set lead.
 
Goldey-Beacom in the third set had 14 kills and a .257 percentage, but Nyack also recorded 14 kills to close the match.
 
Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) recorded 12 kills, fellow sophomore Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) had 25 assists with junior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) getting 21 digs for the Lightning (5-13, 2-8 CACC).
 
Spendlove now is at 946 career assists, moving her into a tie with Danielle Cippolletti for sixth place in school history.  Her 601 assists this season is the 10th-best mark in GBC annals.
 
Kyra Zuhlke pounded 10 kills, Rachel Medin notched 34 assists and 11 digs with British Dawson adding 14 digs for the Warriors (6-10, 5-5).
 
Goldey-Beacom is off until next Thursday, when it visits Holy Family for a 6:00 pm in Northeast Philadelphia.
