Sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France) has become one of Goldey-Beacom's most valuable players and this week she was rewarded by making the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll.

Van Veen went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles last week.  She won all of her singles matches in straight sets with two coming at second singles and one at No. 1 singles.  Van Veen also teamed with sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) at No. 1 in all of her doubles matches.

Van Veen this season owns an 8-2 record in singles, including 5-1 at second singles and has a 5-3 mark in doubles that includes 5-2 at first doubles.

Goldey-Beacom (7-1, 7-1 CACC) again is one of the area's elite, sitting in second place in the conference.  The Lightning have won 31 of their last 33 CACC regular-season matches and this season have qualified for the conference tournament a 12th straight year.

GBC last season went 16-5 and advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament, the furthest any team in the College's history has proceeded in the tournament.  The team played in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in school history and clinched a share of a third straight CACC regular-season title.

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday ends its regular season with a match at Chestnut Hill, beginning at 2:30 pm in Philadelphia, PA.
